POLICY STATEMENT

The Amaoti Youth Changers organisation was created by the youth of Amaoti with an aim of promoting community development in different spheres of life.


*** Amaoti Youth changers is an organisation of young to adult youth from the ages 14 to 35, whose purpose is to provide opportunity for them to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of service and cohesion, and whose goals are:

a) To develop leadership skills;

b)To emphasize respect for the rights of others, and to promote ethical standards and the dignity of all useful occupations;

c) To provide opportunities for young people to address the needs and concerns of the community and our world;

d) To provide opportunities for working in cooperation with other youth organisation.

e) To motivate young people to achieve their goals in life.


*** Amaoti Youth Changers programming shall consist of professional development, leadership development, and service program development as part of human development.


*** Where the Amaoti Youth Changers is university-based, control and counsel by the head-office shall be exercised in full cooperation with the university authorities, with the understanding that such organisation are subject to the same regulations and policies established by the university authorities for all student organizations and extracurricular activities of the university (or other institution of higher education.)


*** All Amaoti Youth Changers activities, projects and programs shall be conducted in harmony with the constitution of the organisation.


*** There shall be a “Standard Amaoti Youth Changers Constitution” prescribed by the head office of AYC and subject to amendment only at the AGM meeting recommended by Executive Committee of AYC.


*** Each branch of Amaoti Youth Changers shall adopt bylaws applicable in the area they operate in consistent with the “Standard AYC Constitution.”


*** Each member of AYC, agrees to accept and to adhere to the provisions of the constitution and by-laws of the organisation.


*** At the end of Financial year of AYC in which a member becomes 35 years old, his or her AYC membership will end.


*** The AYC name and emblem are the property of Amaoti Youth Changers and shall be preserved for the exclusive use of those involved in the organisation. When displayed by individual AYC members, the emblems may be used without further information. When the emblem is used to represent an organisation, the name of the organisation should appear with the emblem.


*** The AYC members shall be entitled to use and display the Amaoti Youth Changers name and emblem in an appropriate and dignified manner during their period of membership in the organisation and shall relinquish such entitlement upon termination of membership in the organisation.


*** AYC existence may be terminated:

a) By the organisation itself upon its own determination,

b) By any Law or Regulation that may be instituted by government.


*** Financing the cost of the AYC program:

a) Individual Youth Changer shall pay annual membership fees to the organisation to cover the cost of organisation's administration.

b) Any fees, dues or assessments on the membership of any organisation shall be nominal and shall be for the purpose of covering the cost of administering the organisations.
A thorough audit by a qualified person shall be made once each year of all the organisation's financial transactions.


*** Organisational secretary shall submit updated membership lists to Executive Committe each month and at the Annual General Meeting, details shall include the names, e-mail addresses, and gender of each Youth Changer in the organisation.
The Executive Committee regularly reviews and amends, as necessary, the Organisational Statement of Policy, Standard Organizational Constitution to be adopted by Special Meeting or at the AGM.

*** Code of Conduct

· General Roles

· No stealing in the organisation can be either organisational assets or member's belongings,

· No assault physically or/and verbally,

· No personal attack in the instance where there is a disagreement amongst members.

· No personal use of organisational assets is permitted by any member of the organisation or third party

· No member will be reported to personally of what happen in the meeting or any activity undertaken by the organisation, it is the duty of that member to find out what transpired.

· Every documentation of the organisation is available upon request by a member including minutes.

· Each member is allowed to promote the organisation in benevolence.

· No member is allowed to use the organisation name to lure funders for personal purposes.

· No littering

· No member is allowed to wear organisation emblem, T/shirts in places that will bring the organisation in disrepute.

· Members are expected to attend at least 60 percent of the meetings per organisational calendar year.


· Meetings:

· No cell phone usage (calls or text) during the progress of the meeting unless indicated prior to the meeting.

· No side-talking while the meeting is in progress.

· No one is allowed to talk unless permission is granted by the Chairperson of the meeting.

· No member is allowed to sleep during the meeting.

· No one is allowed to come drunk or under the influence of alcohol or any kind of drugs in the organisational meeting or gathering.

· No alcohol consumption during the meeting.

· Members are prohibited to come late in the meetings

· Each member is expected to participate in the meeting.

· Members are expected to report if they will not be able to attend the meeting.

· No member is expected to be absent for more than three (3) times in a row from the meeting.

· No eating during meeting, including snacks, unless provided in the meeting.

· Vulgar or improper/ strong language is prohibitant in the meeting.


· Disciplinary Act:

1. Fine of R5 for using Cell phone, in contravening of the stipulated act.

2. R1 fine for not participating in the meeting up to the end of that meeting, payable on the day of that meeting.

3. A member has to report every time if he/she will be absent from the meeting, failure to do so R10 fine, payable on the next meeting.

4. Late coming, R2 fine, payable on the day of that meeting.

5. In case a member report in the meeting drunk of alcohol/drugs or otherwise he/she will be ask to leave the meeting. That member will be treated as absent from the meeting and a fine of R10 will be impose, payable any time before or in the next meeting.

6. Side talking during the meeting fine will impose ranging from cleaning at the end of that meeting, cleaning-up the following meeting or/and preparing the set-up of the next meeting.

7. Sleeping during the meeting punishment same as disciplinary act number 6.

8. Talking while someone else is talking or not pointed a fine of R1 is payable at the end of that meeting

· Terms and Conditions

· New members are required to attend atleast three meetings before they can be accepted as members of the organisation.

· All members are expected to participate in organisational activities upon their affiliation with the organisation.

· Amaoti Youth Changers has its own policy and code of conduct that governed its members, upon being a member you will be bound and be subjected to those applicable organisational policy and codes of conduct.

· Being a member of the organisation you volunteer with your time, energy and skills.

· To be a member you will be engaging in organisational activities without the expectation of monetary reward.
